Minnesota 24 Hour Waiting Period Information

In July of 2003, Minnesota passed a law known as The Woman’s Right to Know Act. This law affects anyone seeking an abortion in Minnesota, Minnesota Statutes 145.4241-145.4249; and requires them to receive certain information from a licensed physician a minimum of 24 hours prior to their procedure. WE Health Clinic provides this information over the telephone at no cost to the patient. The phone call with this information is typically five minutes in length. The patient must be available at the time WE Health Clinic staff schedules this physician phone call. If the patient does not receive this information at least 24 hours prior to the abortion appointment the appointment will be cancelled and will need to be rescheduled.
