Emergency Contraception

Emergency contraception (EC) can be used within 5 days (120 hours) after unprotected sex to prevent pregnancy. The sooner you use EC the more effective it is at preventing pregnancy.

WE Health Clinic offers the following EC services:

  • Emergency contraception pills (the morning-after-pill).
  • Copper IUD insertion.

Minnesota residents may qualify for free EC due to grant funding. Call WE Health Clinic to see if you are eligible. Non-Minnesota residents may purchase EC at a reduced cost. Emergency contraception is available over the counter at pharmacies and at WE Health Clinic with no age restrictions and no parental permission required.
